is an ecumenical partnership of Grosse Pointe churches dedicated
to supporting the work of Habitat for Humanity.
Why help?????
"Nowhere
in the United States can a minimum-wage worker afford a two-bedroom
apartment at Fair Market Rent, based on the generally accepted affordability
standard of paying no more than 30% of income for housing. To afford
FMR on a two-bedroom housing unit, one would have to earn $14.44
per hour in Detroit."

What we do………

1. |
We sponsor
Second Saturday Build Days every month for volunteers of all
ability and experience levels. Effective in 2006, meet at 8am in the parking
lot of the host church for that week, departing at 8:30am for the worksite.

We
offer a summer Youth Build Week for young adults 15 and older.
(College students should check out the
HFH Collegiate Challenge Program.)

We
organize Tuesday/Thursday Work Days throughout the year for
those already possessing construction skills or committed to learning
to become construction team leaders.

We
raise funds for home sponsorship.

We
encourage our friends and colleagues to offer their time and
talents and financial resources to this wonderful organization.

seek corporate, interfaith and individual partners for home
