Habitat for Humanity Detroit runs a shop named ReStore, which gathers donated surplus construction/home improvement materials and donated gently-used items from remodeling projects, and sells them at reduced prices. Plus, the ReStore offers deconstruction services, ensuring all recovered materials get resold instead of tossed in a landfill. All the proceeds go to fund houses. To find out more about the ReStore, call 313-332-0248 or visit the Habitat Detroit ReStore page. The ReStore at 17181 Mack Avenue just north of Cadieux opened in early 2012. It is the closest ReStore to Grosse Pointe for both shopping and donations.

For each of the Second Saturday builds in which GP Partners participate, the member churches rotate responsibility for hosting the build. The host church provides coordination of volunteers, directions to the work site, lunches for all participants, and management of sign-ups. The Second Saturday Host Checklist page provides a simple reference resource for the host church and its lead volunteers.

ReSponding to Community
GPPartners works closely with Habitat for Humanity Detroit as its main community partner. GPPartners traditionally works alongside anyone focused on removing poverty housing and rebuilding neighborhoods in our community. Other groups with which we've been involved directly and peripherally include Habitat for Humanity International, community development corporation U-SNAP-BAC, and Habitat Macomb.
